We are seeking new executive members for our association. The current President and Treasurer have been in place for many years and it is time for some fresh faces. We have our annual general meeting in the fall, however this is the time of year that we have a few things on the go.

Our groups and their members benefit from our shared insurance policy and from the opportunity to have their children or grandchildren apply for the high school bursary.
IT would be good to have a couple people step up from YOUR Group to learn the ropes of the Bursary committee or the treasurer’s responsibilities around insurance renewal.
If we are to continue to enjoy the benefits of our shared goals and our shared web site we need some help. On a positive note I’d like to thank Andy Moore of the Kelowna pipe band for handling the events calendar on the web site and Vincent Sherry from the Okanagan Irish Society for taking on the role of Bursary chairman.
Our website gets more views all the time, some recent inquiries have been:
- A piper needed for Fire Chiefs conference in Kamloops
- An offer from Kelowna Rotary Centre for the Arts to use their space and a request to promote Celtic concerts
- A request for performers at Grizzli Winery for Cultural Diversity Day on June 30th, 11 am-4 pm.
- A request from Ireland for help finding Irish entertainment for a relative living in Kelowna suffering from cancer.
This is just a sample of the many contacts we get each year. These are passed on to the member groups and hopefully they benefit from them.
To keep all this going we need help. It really is not a lot of work needed, but it does need to be done. Please canvass your members for volunteers.
