DESCRIPTION:Scottish Country Dance Workshop\nSaturday\, April 26th\, 2025\nPaddlewheel Park Hall. Vernon BC\nInstructor: Kay Sutherland\nKay began dancing in elementary school in Scotland as part of the Phys Ed program. After a gap when she first came to Canada\, Kay resumed dancing when Dorothy Hargreaves started a class in Deep Cove in 1986 and began teaching at the class in 2007. Currently\, Kay teaches the North Shore ‘Dance Scottish’ class. She has been the director of the Vancouver Branch Demonstration Team (Strictly Scottish) since 2016. Kay is a CTI trainer and RSCDS tutor responsible for training new teachers … and she loves Scottish Country Dance and music. \nMusician: Mary Ross\, Accordionist \nMary has been involved with music and dancing since the age of five\, starting with Highland dancing for twenty years in Calgary and then moving on to Scottish Country Dancing in Victoria. Mary has enjoyed playing for Scottish Country Dances\, Ceilidhs and workshops since 1991. During that time she has played for TAC Summer School at Shawnigan Lake\, Vancouver Island\, and Vancouver BC\, Youth Weekends\, SCD workshops\, dances and ceilidhs in Western Canada and USA.
