Competitive events such as Highland Dancing, Solo Bagpiping and Drumming and Heavy Events (stone put, hammer throw, weight for height, and the famous caber toss) start off the morning!  This year our Festival precedes the Canadian National Highland Dance Competition commencing July 8th so the “best of the best” dancers will be on the Penticton dance stages!

Watch Opening Ceremonies at 12:30 pm, Pipe Band Competitions, and the Entertainment Stage fills the afternoon.

Kids’ Zone will keep the wee ones entertained with the Haggis Hurl, Kids’ Caber Toss and a Kilted Relay.  We also have the pleasure of including the Penticton Indian Band’s Indigenous Village full of cultural activities for kids of all ages!

Don’t forget to watch the Massed Pipe Bands before the Award Ceremonies at the end of the day.

Adults can indulge in a Whisky school and the beverage tent.

Our on-site food vendors and beverage area will keep you well-fed and hydrated.

The festival is a one day event that combines a traditional Scottish Highland Games of musical and athletic competition with a Celtic cultural expo, entertainment and family fun.

Competitive events such as Highland Dancing, Solo Bagpiping and Drumming, and Heavy Events (stone put, hammer throw, sheath toss, caber toss) all begin at 9 am.   All competitive events continue throughout the day until 4 pm, when there is an awards ceremony and another massed pipe band.
