Blood Donations Needed

in Canada we need 100,000 new donors each year in order to continue to meet patient needs yet only 2% of eligible Canadians are actually donating.  Luckily, we have some exciting updates to our eligibility criteria and we are hoping you can help us get the word out!   People who lived or spent time in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland or France during the ‘mad cow disease’ (variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) outbreak are now eligible to donate blood, plasma and platelets in Canada.  This change to our blood and plasma donor eligibility criteria is based on nearly 30 years of surveillance and research from Canada and around the world.

If you haven’t been able to donate blood or plasma in the past because of these criteria, now’s
your chance to join fellow donors through your community’s Partners for Life team. Book now!
