It is with enormous regret and disappointment that we must announce the cancellation of the 2021 edition of the Okanagan Military Tattoo. The Tattoo has been honouring the Canadian Military, Veterans, First Responders and showcasing local and international talent here in Vernon since 2013. Despite the sense of optimism around BC’s emergence from the Pandemic and our huge enthusiasm to stage another world-class performance this year, it is now clear from the Health Authorities that the financial and human risks we confront are simply too great and it is in the best interests of the Tattoo and our community to cancel this year’s event. Public safety and the safety of our cast, volunteers, production team and crew are our first priorities. A show as large and complex as ours requires plenty of lead time for planning and execution. Indeed the majority of the performers have not even been able to practice or perform as a group for over a year. We very much looked forward to once again bringing our audience an awe-inspiring show. Meanwhile, we will be working diligently from home with our trusted and valued partners including the Canadian Armed Forces, the Governments of Canada and British Columbia and the City of Vernon to ensure a triumphant return to Kal Tire Place in 2022. The dates for the 2022 edition are July 23 & 24. Check out our website or follow us on Facebook and Instagram for cast announcements, updates and ticket sales information. All tickets purchased for the 2021 show will be refunded. If you wish, you can use the refund to purchase tickets for the 2022 production. We thank the public, our partners, volunteers, cast and crew for your support and understanding. We urge everyone to take the advice of the local authorities, stay safe and look after one another.
