Sons of Scotland Kildonan Camp #166

Since 1876, Sons of Scotland has brought together everyone who wants to celebrate Scottish heritage and culture. We welcome people of all races, religions and ages. There is something for everyone…the young and the young at heart.

The Kildonnan Camp #166 has been active in Vernon for many years.  They meet on the fourth Monday of every month at the Halina Centre in the Vernon Rec  Centre at 3310 – 37th Ave in Vernon, BC.

We are always welcoming new members.  Contact our past Chief Terry Muir at terrymuir00@gmail.com.

St. Andrews Day Ceilidh & Scottish Arts Education Bursaries

Nov 25, 2017 at the Schubert Centre – 5:00 pm to 11:30 p.m.

St Andrew’s Night celebration, a traditional Ceilidh with food and dancing. This is our fun and fundraising event with money raised set aside for artistic bursaries promoting Scottish Arts (Highland Dancing, playing Bagpipes, and drumming) for eligible students.

Exciting donated items are available to bid in the Silent Auctions, all in aide of raising bursary funds.  A “surprise” bag auction and various other fun games are planned. The evening starts off with a  dinner, followed by live entertainment by the band Birchbark and local Celtic artists.  Birchbark — consisting of Sue Kyle on banjo, penny whistle, guitar, flute, harmonica and bodhran, Richard Owings on fiddle and guitar, Alan Bates on guitar and Jean Brighouse on stand-up bass — hails from Salmon Arm and has been playing in the Shuswap area since 1995.

Tickets available from the ticketseller box office or Sons of Scotland members.  Contact Elaine Lis (elainelis@telus.net) for more information or tickets.
